Nicholas Ghesquire Steps Down After 15 Years from Balenciaga

So I'm a week late, but heck, this  blog is new and there is big news in the Fashion industry in regards to Balenciaga and who the new Head Designer will be after previous designer, Nicholas Ghesquire has left the company after 15 years at the helm.

Rumour has it, a source told Cathy Horyn that Ghesquire was 'irked' about the creative freedom given to new head designer of Saint Laurent, Heidi Slimane by big cat bosses PPR, who own both brands. Sources say he may be moving to rival and arch enemy company LVMH as he has been courted by the Chief Executive Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton. The situation has been described as "delicate".

However, at Balenciaga it has indeed been confirmed that CEO Isabelle Guichot has confirmed that there is a shortlist of designers for his replacement: of which only rumours have circulated.

In honour of his departure from the brand, I look at some of the best outfits from not just last season, but the last 15 years of Balenciaga, well, actually, the last  7 years.
